Sudhakar Madakasira, MD, DFAPA

Sudhakar Madakasira, M.D., DLFAPA, is a psychiatrist and a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He has over thirty years of clinical experience, half of it in academic centers. He has won numerous awards and is listed in The Best Doctors of America. He is in full-time private practice, and is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, and teaches at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He founded Psycamore Psychiatric Programs and specializes in the evaluation, research, and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders and in partial hospital programs.

Mark Ladner, MD, FAPA

Medical Director, Evening Program

Mark E. Ladner, M. D., FAPA, has Board Certification in Psychiatry and is a Fellow in the American Psychiatric Association. He has 20 years of clinical experience and is currently an Associate Professor at UMMC. He has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings including the Jackson VA Medical Center, St. Dominic Hospital, Hinds Behavioral Health Center, and Private Practice. He earned his M.D. at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1992. He completed a psychiatric residency at UMMC in 1996, serving as chief resident of psychiatry from 1995-96. He is from Jackson, Mississippi, and has been part of the Psycamore Staff since 2005. He has served as President of the Mississippi Psychiatric Association and Acting Chief of Psychiatry at the VA Medical Center. He has experience in treating a wide range of psychiatric disorders including mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD, and psychotic disorders.

Kirtida Desai, MD

Medical Director, Adolescent Program

Kirtida Desai, MD earned her medical education from Government Medical School, Surat, India. She received her psychiatry residency training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS from 1993-1997. She later joined the faculty at UMC and was part of the Psychiatry Consultation Liaison, covering the Emergency Room. She earned her board certification in Adult Psychiatry from ABPN in 1999 and was recertified again in 2009. She is a Fellow of APA and an affiliate faculty with the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at UMMC. Her experience also includes working at Mississippi State Hospital with adult and geriatric females with chronic mental illnesses and providing psychiatric consultations at the Jaquith Nursing Home, the largest nursing home in the State of Mississippi. Dr. Desai has consulted with Psycamore since May of 2006.

Dr. Kimberly Madakasira licensed professional counselors

Kimberly Lichte-Madakasira Phd, LPC, LMFT, BC-TMH, C-IAYT

CFO

Kimberly Lichte-Madakasira is a licensed professional counselor, licensed marriage and family therapist, and a registered 500 level yoga instructor. Dr. Lichte-Madakasira has been a licensed professional counselor since 2000 with experience treating adults utilizing various techniques and therapies in both group and individual settings. She provides yoga therapy, which has been shown to be beneficial for depression and anxiety; and has completed her training in therapeutic yoga. She received her Ph.D. in Health Psychology from Walden University in 2011 where she studied somatic issues. Her areas of interest include mood disorders, chronic pain, and somatic issues. Through a holistic approach, she believes in utilizing the connection between mind, body, and breath in order to effectively access the body’s healing power. She utilizes specific and customized mindfulness practices with her clients in order to help elevate their moods. Dr. Lichte-Madakasira is the Executive Director and a founding member of Psycamore, LLC with extensive experience in administration and business.

Jennifer Harris, LPC-S, BC-TMH

Executive Director

Jennifer is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Qualified Supervisor with over 20 years of experience in mental and behavioral health. Jennifer received the Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Mississippi College and the Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from William Carey College. Professional experiences have included working in community-based mental health programs, psychiatric inpatient and long-term care facilities, a medical pediatric psychology program, a college counseling center, and crisis management programs. In addition, she has approximately 10 years of experience in administration in clinical/program director roles within intensive mental health programs, including those that specialize in the treatment of trauma, mood disorders, and eating disorders. She has served on the adjunct faculty for Holmes Community College and has presented lectures at various professional conferences and workshops throughout the Southeast. Professional interests include the study and treatment of trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, dissociative experiences, attachment injuries, and counselor education and supervision. While grounded in cognitive behavioral therapies, Jennifer enjoys utilizing the expressive arts and experiential therapies, psychodrama, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems theory within her practice. She is EMDR trained (Levels I and II), has completed advanced group therapy training with Dr. Gerald Corey, and has studied advanced EMDR protocols with Ms. Ana Gomez. Jennifer is a member of AMHCA, MCA, EMDRIA, and IAEDP.

Calandrea Taylor is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Calandrea earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Alcorn State and completed her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Mississippi College. Calandrea has over 9 years of experience working with families, children, and young adults from ages 4 to 26 in a Community Mental Health setting. In 2016 she began working part-time at an inpatient hospital facility with all ages of people. Her experience includes work with ADHD, mood disorders, trauma, and anxiety. Calandrea prefers to practice using a holistic integrative and humanistic approach. Calandrea likes to utilize CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and expressive techniques to create an eclectic approach to therapy.

David Hopkins, LPC

Dave Hopkins, MS, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mississippi State University. He has spent time working in both inpatient and outpatient settings with the Mississippi State Hospital and Region VII Mental Health Services respectfully. He has experience working with adults and adolescents dealing with issues related to depression, anxiety, thought disorders, addiction, grief, trauma, and anger. His modes of treatment include the use of CBT, person-centered approach, trauma focus, and DBT.

Frances Mobley, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Fran received her Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University and a Masters of Social Work from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She has over 25 years of experience working in both mental health and health-related fields. Most of her experience has been providing mental health counseling. She has worked with eating disorders, group homes, Employee Assistance Counseling, and most recently worked as a school-based therapist. She has a love for people and enjoys helping them to achieve their goals. Special areas of interest are anxiety, depression, ADHD, and anger management.

Lauren Bennett, MS, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor
in the state of Mississippi. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in
Psychology from Mississippi State University and earned her
Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Mississippi
College. She has over 17 years of experience in the field
working with children, adolescents, adults, and their families.
She utilizes an integrative approach with an emphasis in
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but has a passion for
creative, music-based and expressive arts therapy as well as the
treatment of ADHD. She has most recently participated in an
intensive workshop in Exposure and Response Prevention
Therapy (ERP) for the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive
Disorder (OCD) by the Center for Anxiety and Behavior Therapy.

Kristi Webber, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Kristi earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi and completed her Master’s degree in Counseling with an emphasis in mental health at Mississippi College. Kristi has over 10 years of experience working in the social services field providing services for the elderly and disabled population, homeless veterans, case management for Drug Court, and as a Clinician with at-risk youth. Her experience includes working with adults and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders, mood disorders, trauma, depression, and somatic complaints. Kristi prefers to practice using a holistic, integrative, and cognitive-behavioral approach. Kristi utilizes CBT, DBT, and solution-focused therapy in order to support individuals to develop new self-affirming habits and behaviors.

Courtney Perry, PLPC, is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor. Courtney earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Jackson State University and completed her Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mississippi College. Prior to joining Psycamore, Courtney gained experience working in MYPAC community mental health programs, crisis prevention programs, group homes, and non-profit mentoring organizations working primarily with children and adolescents. Courtney also has experience working with adults conducting family therapy sessions. She has a background in working with individuals with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, conduct disorders, aggression, self-esteem issues, complex trauma, ADHD, and autism. She utilizes CBT, TF-CBT, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, art, and play therapy techniques in order to assist individuals in building strong and positive coping skills.

Susan earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Mississippi College and earned her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Reformed Theological Seminary.  Before coming to Psycamore, Susan was a therapist for 13 years providing individual and family therapy.  She also was an Adjunct Instructor in the Psychology department at Mississippi College.  As Intake/UR Manager at Psycamore, she coordinates clinical intakes and diagnostic assessments for new clients. She also works with managed care companies to ensure that the patients receive the services that are clinically necessary for recovery.

Brooke Guyton, LPC

Brooke Guyton, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with Honors from Mississippi University for Women and her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mississippi State University. She has worked in various mental health settings including inpatient, outpatient, crisis, and community mental health. Most recently, she spent 6 months in Alaska serving the Alaska Native population’s mental health needs. Dorothea Garrett is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Her specialties are in the areas of anger management, self-esteem and grief, and loss. She received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Chicago State University in Business Administration, a Master’s of Arts Degree from Northeastern Illinois University in Vocational Counseling, and a Master’s of Arts Degree from Pepperdine University in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. Barbara is a retired nurse who has been practicing yoga since 2005. She is a registered yoga teacher and certified Yoga Therapist and a member of the Yoga Alliance and the International Association of Yoga Therapists. While spending several years exploring the many different yoga traditions, she also discovered how yoga played a role in healing the mind and body. Her passion for yoga and interest in healing has led her to study and specialize in Yoga for PTSD and other trauma and mood-related disorders. Her goal in yoga is to always take clients through safe and mindful practices and to help them discover the power and self-control that already exists within.

Catherine Rogers, MD

Catherine Rogers, MD completed her medical school and psychiatry residency training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is board certified through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Following her psychiatry residency training, she served as an active duty military member in the United States Air Force as an attending psychiatrist and medical director. She is currently in private practice full time. Her interests include mood and anxiety disorders, military/veteran issues, psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and IOP/PHP treatment.

Before coming to Psycamore, she worked as a children’s therapist in community mental health. Hayley has experience with counseling adults, adolescents, and children presenting with issues related to relationship conflicts, career counseling, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and behavioral disorders. Her goal is to help patients feel profoundly understood and to engage in a collaborative process that facilitates healing and success. At Psycamore she meets with new patients for their initial screening and assessments and coordinates with managed care companies to ensure that patients receive appropriate and necessary services for recovery. Her professional interests include Reality Therapy, anxiety disorders, couples counseling, and mindfulness.

Taylor Ritchey, LPC

Taylor Ritchey is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is National Board Certified (NCC). Taylor earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and Master’s in Counselor Education specializing in Clinical Mental Health from Mississippi State University. Her research focuses on social relations, marital interaction, and family dynamics. Her clinical experience is in working with the young adult population, suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD, body image, and relational concerns. She has worked with college athletic teams for individual and group sessions focusing on improving the mental health of college athletes on and off the field. She utilizes a blend of cognitive-behavioral, reality, and parts therapy in a pragmatic approach in order to meet the needs of her clients.

Linda Jordan, CMHT, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from William Carey University, and her Master’s in Social Work degree from The University of Southern Mississippi. Linda has provided therapeutic services to all populations, with emphasis on adolescents and children. Linda has done extensive work treating child and adolescent trauma victims through the use of TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Linda’s therapy of choice is CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to help individuals challenge inaccurate thoughts and manage emotions.

Dr. Lauren Zakaras received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi and her Doctorate in Behavioral Health from Arizona State University. She is currently the Program Manager at Psycamore Psychiatric Programs, LLC in Biloxi, MS. Prior to joining Psycamore, LLC, she served as the Field Education Coordinator and Instructor in the School of Social Work at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM). Prior to her appointment as Field Education Coordinator, she served as the Integrated Health Project Director where she collaborated with Forrest General’s Family Medicine Residency Program to implement social workers in primary care. When joining USM’s School of Social Work in 2013, Dr. Zakaras worked with the MS Integrated Health and Disaster Program in positions of Team Leader, Coordinator of Clinical Programs and Training, and Clinical Director. She has experience in providing individual, family, and group therapy to adults, children, and families in mental health clinics, school settings, and medical practices. Zakaras has extensive training and experience in developing and providing clinical services within multiple provider integrated care clinics. She has implemented behavioral health services in several medical clinics and developed programs and interventions from a social work perspective for individuals living with chronic diseases. Dr. Zakaras supervised and trained licensed social workers and graduate students to practice in integrated care settings, function effectively on interdisciplinary teams, and lead the integration of behavioral and medical treatment. She also provides training in the community to increase mental health awareness. Sharing her love of yoga with students is her joy and her passion. Moira’s classes offer students compassionate self-observation, gentle alignment cues, and empowering vinyasa flow. Moira is honored to have taken over 200 hours of alignment-based yoga & philosophy workshops with Doug Keller. Moira completed Shiva Rea’s Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training in 2004. Robert Rahaim has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in Mississippi since 1994. He earned a Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS in 1991. During his time as a graduate student and for the 12 years following his graduation, Robert worked for a nationally recognized psychiatric/behavioral health system in various roles, including, Program Director, Outreach and Counseling Center Director, and Clinical Director of Managed Care. Robert served on the adjunct faculty at Belhaven College in Jackson, MS (now Belhaven University) and was a lecturer and group facilitator in the Pastoral Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy programs at Reformed Theological Seminary. Across his career, Robert also worked in private practice and has had the privilege of helping individuals, couples, and families move through challenging events in their lives. Recently Robert earned his credentials as a Board Qualified Supervisor and enjoys helping developing therapists hone their skills toward licensure. Yoko Montgomery Ramsey is a native of Mississippi. She began her post-secondary education at Mississippi Valley State University earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice. After entering the workforce, working with at-risk youth in group homes in the Memphis, TN area, Yoko pursued and earned her Master’s of Education in Counselor Education from The University of Mississippi in 2008. Yoko has worked with emotionally and behaviorally challenged children, adolescents, and their families for over 5 years, utilizing many different counseling modalities. Yoko earned her LPC in Mississippi in 2012 and became a Board Qualified Supervisor in 2015. She enjoys helping patients reach their goals in life through the process of building trust and relationships.

Lakeia Kirksey, MS, PLPC, is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor. Mary Helen has worked with adults and adolescents in three states as a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist along with contract work for insurance companies and employer groups, as well as private practice. Mary Helen’s areas of professional interest are dialectical behavioral therapy, trauma therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, yoga, and meditation.

Kelly is a Yoga Therapist, Certified Yoga Health Coach, yoga instructor, and Master Trainer for YogaFit. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor in TN and MS. She teaches yoga to patients at the inpatient and outpatient levels of care. Kelly leads groups on self-care based in Ayurveda and offers online courses for small group Ayurvedic-based health coaching. She also leads teacher training and maintains a caseload of private clients to combine yoga and mental health.
